Word to the Harding Test

Though I am a sucka for them D's from the original, the head up top is voting for version 2... Which would you rather see in retarded rotation on your favorite video outlet?

1.3

1.2

My vote goes undoubtedly to 1.3. While I definitely admire the ability to tell a story via very disjointed imagery in 1.2, the sheer austerity of in the imagery in 1.3 is undeniably appealing to me. Perhaps it's the gothic nature of that version, but also, I felt it much more cinematic than 1.2. I really appreciate how different all 3 videos are, but I also find it interesting how each video explored the irony of happiness (or purported happiness) that the song itself captures. "Flashing Lights" is a song about the supposed joys of a relationship and the breakdown of that fantasy at the border of fantasy and reality. Each video ends in a very tragic desperation. The videos themselves bring a tragedy to the song that wasn't there before. Especially 1.2. Hmm, i'm starting to think maybe 1.2, but I'll say it's 1.3, by a nose (or maybe jaw?)
That seemed real intellectual-like. But uh, yeah, 1.3 reminded me of the movie Atonement. I likeded that.

1.3 was like "Clue." I don't know how I felt about that cuz I couldn't stop saying "It was Mr. West in the study with the candlestick..." I dont know if anybody else felt that way.

1.2 was pretty dope. I think the thing that didn't make sense was the random god-like shots of Kanye. Those scenes broke up all the unity of the story...at least for me. But I was very into the story and the method of the story telling. I think the mugging could have been rethought...

1.1 I never liked cuz it was just a damn sample of a scene from a James bond movie...If you were gonna sample anything for this song it would have been the "Billie Jean" video. It had all the flashing lights, a private eye. I guess cuz I felt like the song was a commentary on our obsession with celebrity couples, but taken from the vantage point of those whose privacy we/the paparazzi invade to satisfy our our curiosity. It's like we don't see what really goes on, we just see what the flashing lights capture and try to read into it. IDK, maybe Greasy's story is better than mine.

But I pick 1.2

In true Cara 2008 The Way That I Loved You Ashanti I hate these niggas fashion...I'm sticking with the original.

First, because she kills Kanye's arrogant weird I'm more creative my videos mostly make no damn sense I'm so next level I'm not even on my level ass.

Second because... fame, fortune, and media attention aside, you better believe if I were Ms. She-A-Delta-So-She-Been-Throwing-that-Dynasty-Sign I woulda bashed dude's skull in with a shovel too. How dare you cheat on me and leave me after I was with you when you had no phone you worthless piece of man crap. To me, its most fitting with the inspiration of the song, and I'm glad he recognized that he deserved to really get Thin Line'd (aka lynn whitfield'd), though his old girl had enough sense to not do that to him.

p.s. while reasons one and two sound the same, I swear they are different.
